Greetings
Yes life is good much like Joe Walsh said in the song and I can prove it. I have a successful marrriage to a wonderful woman, a successful business that has grown each year since 1998. I own a home, a motorcycle and a new Mustang among other things and I live in the greatest country God ever created. I have a great attitude most of the time as I know how blessed I am to be an American and a Christian. Being a positive person who sees life from an optomistic point of view is a wonderful blessing and I am thankful God gave me this gift, however I have heard some news of late that really has shaken me somewhat from my lofty perch.
Although I am confident of what my fate is when the time comes I am worried about my country and many of my loved ones as I think of what may happen to the USA at the hands of the terrorists. There is a guy hitting the talk show circiut (can't remeber his name) who claims he has proof that Osama Bin Ladin and his bunch of terrorist murderers are in possesion of nuclear weapons they bought during the collapse of the old soviet regime and are planning to detonate them in the USA in what will be a coordinated attack in seven cities simultaneously.
If this is true and he can pull this off our country will be ruined and millions will die. I sure hope that President Bush is doing something I am unaware of around the borders to stop these maniacs from coming in but it may be too late as this guy thinks that they are already here inside the country laying in wait. We need to crack down on the muslim extremism in the USA and around the world. The only way to prevent this disaster is to start locking these nut cases up or killing them and sending them to their reward. (Which I believe is eternal damnation) I think the 72 virgins they wake up with will have fangs and scales. Their breath will smell like sulfur and rotten eggs and their fingers will end in jagged, dirty, razor-like nails. The virgin sex these terrorists are dying for is not going to be as pleasant and they imagine.
So should this happen we are in for some major trouble and this country may be history. As for me I am not troubled for my soul. Dying is a release and I will happily give up my mortal shell for eternal life in heaven with my Lord and Saviour but for those who have chosen a different path I hope God has mercy on them and will accept their last minute prayers, if they even have time for those.

Happy Independence Day
Wow! I knew I had been away for a while but I did not realize how long exactly. Took a break from the blogging world and email and news and all that. I just got sick of what I was reading and hearing everyday and needed a vacation from the world of news, politics and so on.
So today is the day we celebrate our independence from England. I heard that a so called TV anchorman compared our founding fathers to the terrorists just a few days ago. This is why I just can't take these people any more. Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess, unless your a Christian conservative then your just a crazy, Jesus loving zealot. I don't seem to remember our founding fathers blowing themselves up or killing innocent civilians. Perhaps they loaded explosives on their donkeys and rode them into buildings or something like that, I'm not really sure, I wasn't there.
Anyway I will make this short and sweet today. I watched Black Hawk Down this weekend and I am reminded of what our soldiers do for us. God Bless them all those who fight, have fought and died or were injured to keep this country free. These are brave men and women, many are heroes and deserve better than what they get from this country's politicians, especially those from the left whose names are so profane I will not mention them here but you know who they are.

Filibuster This!
Greetings Friends
I am so sick and tired of this filibuster talk I am about to throw my satellite radio out the window! Some republicans seem to have lost their courage on the issue and the democrats are acting like they are smarter than everyone else as they think they have won something here. I think it is all a big bunch of hooey! (Is that a word?)
Anyway I will give credit to Carrie Underwood for carrying the banner for us Red Staters last night in American Idol and her runner up Bo Bice who is also a red stater. I don't know what their personal politics are and I don't care. They are both great singers and I hope they will help rejuvenate the music business which has been on a down hill slide for many, many years now. (One of the reasons I left the DJ/KJ business.) Since Brittany SPears seems to be gone maybe there is hope after all! Keep in mind that 30 million plus people watch and vote on that show and out of all the hip hop, R&B, pop singers they voted for a Country singer and a Southern Rock singer as the two finalist. That seems to reflect something here that can be mirrored in politics.
Now to more important news. Golf!
I shot a 92 this week. Took off early one afternoon and played 18 holes for a change. I left a good 5 or 6 strokes on the front nine and a couple on the back as well so looks like breaking into the 80's is not out of the question this year. It's funny I have been playing this game since the early 80's and I am just now getting to where I can shoot in the 80's. Almost had my first eagle, made a birde out of it. I bought some new clubs last year and it seems they are paying off. Of course good putting is what did it for me this round. I made at least two putts over twenty feet and I was making just about all of the five foot or less putts. That is they key to a good score for a hacker like me.
A little vacation is in order this weekend. I am going to the beach with my lovely wife. I am leaving my two vicious dogs and my son here so don't even think about it! Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Desecration of a Holy Book
You have heard this story over and over in the news lately. All the Old Media outlets here in the USA are doing their best to let everyone know how the bad Americans are desecrating the Muslim religion by destroying it's Holy Koran.
Yet, wait just a minute.
I seem to have stumbled across even another story about the desecration of a Holy book. Take a look and let me know if this gets reported by CBS, NBC, ABC, Newsweek, the NY Times, the Washington Post, etc.. This is a good story for Dan Rather to use to make his come back! Howard Dean (a deeply religious man) should lead the protests!
Hmmm, I wonder if right wing radical Christians will riot and kill one another once this gets out?
Saudis Do Destroy Bibles, Think Tank Affirms

(CNSNews.com) - A U.S.-based think tank critical of the Saudi government has added its voice to allegations that authorities in the kingdom routinely destroy Bibles.
"As a matter of official policy, the government either incinerates or dumps Bibles, crosses and other Christian paraphernalia," the Saudi Institute said in an article posted on its website.
"Although considered as holy in Islam and mentioned in the Koran dozens of times, the Bible is banned in Saudi Arabia, and is confiscated and destroyed by government officials," it said.
Last week a Christian pastor who worked in Saudi Arabia during the 1990s told Cybercast News Service it was widely known among underground Christians there that Bibles were confiscated -- and sometimes shredded -- by Saudi customs officials at ports of entry.
The Saudi Embassy in Washington has yet to respond to emailed queries about its policies regarding the Bibles and the shredding allegations.
Saudi Arabia was one of the first governments to protest after Newsweek reported earlier this month that U.S. troops had thrown a Koran into a toilet to fluster Muslim terror suspects being detained by the U.S. military at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.
A statement issued on May 12 said the Saudi government was "following with great concern and apprehension reports that the sanctity of the Holy Koran has been violated on several occasions at Guantanamo Bay."
Following rioting in Afghanistan and protests elsewhere in the Muslim world, Newsweek retracted the report. It said its unnamed government source was no longer certain about his original claim that he saw the Koran flushing mentioned in a military report of abuse at the base.
Home to Islam's two most revered sites, in Mecca and Medina, Saudi Arabia views itself as guardian of the religion. The kingdom is committed to the fundamentalist Wahhabi ideology, and non-Wahhabi Muslim traditions are frowned upon.
Human rights campaigners name Saudi Arabia as one of the world's most egregious violators of religious freedom.
In another article posted on its site -- and published as an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal on Friday -- Saudi Institute director Ali Al-Ahmed wrote of his fellow Saudis: "As Muslims, we have not been as generous as our Christian and Jewish counterparts in respecting others' holy books and religious symbols.
"Saudi Arabia bans the importation or the display of crosses, Stars of David or any other religious symbols not approved by the Wahhabi establishment," he continued. "TV programs that show Christian clergymen, crosses or Stars of David are censored."
Based in Washington, the Saudi Institute describes itself as an independent organization that provides information relating to "terrorism, democracy, human rights, charitable organizations, religious freedom and the House of Saud."
Wire services reported Saturday that 18 Saudi Muslim scholars have demanded that "those involved in the alleged desecration of the Koran at the U.S. detention facility of Guantanamo Bay be tried by an Islamic court."

Star Wars
In 1977 my Dad took me to see the original movie when I visited him in Lakewood, California for the summer that year. I was 16 years old and he let me drive his car around while he was working. I had a great time that summer driving that old Chevy. If I remember correctly it was a blue Malibu late 60's model. I know it had an eight track tape player in it because I listened to Pink Floyd and Aerosmith, tapes I had brought along with me.
My Dad is gone now and though we had somewhat of a strained relationship throughout our lifetimes I do have some good memories and seeing Star Wars in the summer of 77 is one of them. I was amazed by this movie like most other people. The special effects were dazzling at the time and I always looked forward to the next movie. I think I lost my eagerness to see Star Wars by the third movie but when I heard that this latest and last Star Wars movie was coming out I told my son who is now 18 that we should go see it together in honor of my Dad taking me to see the first one.
Well we did and I must say once again I was amazed by the special effects. I enjoyed how Lucas wrapped everything up in a nice, neat package from this movie to the very first one. We get to see the creation of Darth Vader and the beginning of life for Luke and Leya. Now the acting in this movie is rather wooden, the dialog kinda stupid but Star Wars has always been about the special effects for me anyway. This is not something you go see for the fine acting. With the story being told in retrospection from the first movie to this movie actually happening before the first movie it was an ingenious way to make people want to go see it so that we could all see what happened to get us up to the start of the first picture. I wonder if Lucas has this in mind from the start or if it just turned out this way? Anyway if you are even a casual Star Wars fan I think you will enjoy this movie. It is somewhat darker and more violent than anything else in the series so you might want to keep the young kids at home. Maybe 12 or 13 will be OK. Oh yeah, I read this morning that it has made 303 million dollars world wide since it opened Wednesday at midnight. Wow!
I give it a 3.5 out of 5 light sabers over all but for the special effects I would have to give it 5 out of 5!

FDR - President
With all the talk about Social Security I decided to do some research on the man who created it. It has been a long time since I have studied US history and I really did not remember much about President Roosevelt.
We had two Presidents named Roosevelt of course and they were related, very distantly. The first was Theodore or "Teddy" Roosevelt 1901 to 1909. He was made President after the assassination of William McKinley in September of 1901. Teddy Roosevelt was a legendary war hero from the Spanish, American war where he charged up San Juan hill as a Lt. Colonel of the Rough Riders. He was a big game hunter, loved the outdoors and was known as a man's man. One of his most remembered accomplishments in office was creating or setting aside millions of acres of land for our National Parks system here in the USA.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was a different sort of man altogether. Born and raised in a wealthy family in New York he attended Harvard and Columbia Law School. He was into politics at a young age and when he was 39 he was stricken with Polio. He struggled but persevered and with the help of the warm waters of a natural spring in Georgia was able to cope with his illness. He eventually bought the place and turned it into a resort for those afflicted with Polio so that they could learn to cope and receive therapy in the healing waters.
FDR, President from 1932 to 1945 was the only American President to serve more than two terms. Soon after he was elected in 1932 we were hit with the great depression and then had to deal with the beginnings of W.W.II. So you see this was a man who was faced with major historical problems right from the start. He obviously was made of strong stuff as he endured and was known as one of the greatest Presidents. His New Deal legislation was key to bringing the nation through the depths of the depression and was the birth of Social Security. The war was also a big boon to the country in helping to bring us out of depression. It is said he did his best to keep us out of the war but eventually had to relent. He is also credited for the creation of the United Nations. He died in 1945 on the eve of a complete military victory in Europe. Perhaps the stress of war and major domestic problems finally took it's toll on him.

What The ?????
I don't get it! I have complained about the media in this country for years along with many other conservatives and it seems the left continues to deny that the Old Media here in the USA is biased towards or in favor of Democrats. Let me give you a really good example of what I mean then I'll shut up.
Recently the Democrats have had a really good time with the media going full throttle to try and damage Tom Delay and his reputation. Fortunately Mr. Delay is a courageous man and has not backed down from these character assassins but the media and the Democrats in Washington did their best to try and make him resign. Turns out that many Democrats and Republicans in Washington were guilty of doing what Delay did and worse but the Old Media wanted no part of reporting it.
Hmmmm. Leftist Media Bias anyone, anyone????????
Anther huge story of late is David Rosen the man who managed Hillary Clinton's money in her Senate campaign is on trial for fundraising impropriety. Seems he mis-reported about $800,000.00 that was spent on a Gala Hollywood event thrown for Mrs. Clinton and in the ensuing investigation some tapes were made that have revealed even more seedy activity in that ordeal that may include prostitution. Yet the Old Media does not want to report on this story. When it does, it is not front page news but buried somewhere in the paper. I also heard that the Judge in this case made it plain to the jury that this in no way reflects on Mrs. Clinton. Double hmmmm.
Not only is this a fine example of Old Media bias it seems we have a little problem here with bias in the court room with a Clinton appointee. Now let me ask you an honest question. If this was a Republican, let's say Dick Cheney or Tom Delay would it be front page news??? How about the lead story every day for a week or two on ABC, NBC, CBS or Newsweek? Have you even heard anything about this trial in any of these venues????

Just for fun do a search on Tom Delay. Take a look at the news outlets that covered the Delay story and the words used in the approach to the story. Then do the same on the Clinton/Rosen story and compare the two. You will find that most all major Old Media outlets covered the Delay story. Wonder what you will find about the Clinton story?

The Leftist Media
You often hear or read folks like me on the right lambasting the Old Media for being a liberal mouthpiece for the left side of the political force here and abroad. Perhaps we have not made it clear in the past how dangerous it can be when these so called reporters print a story citing something our military did such as the Abu Grahib prison scandal. However the fact that someone prints an unvetted story can have serious repercussions. When a reporter lies or prints something false people can die due to their lack of professionalism. We have had a terrible incident recently of Newsweek printing an article that accused some of our interrogators desecrating a Koran in Guantanamo by flushing it down the toilet of even worse by urinating on it first. America Today
I love my country! Praise be to God that I was born here in the USA and not in some third world country where food is something not easy to come by and electricity is considered a luxury. I hear plenty of people here in this country bitch and moan about this and that (me too sometimes) but we should all be happy as pigs in a mudhole that we are Americans because we have so much to be thankful for. With that said I want to bitch and complain a bit. hehehe
Politics - Most of you who know me know that I am a guy who follows politics on a national level as well as local. I am a conservative so I support many of the Republican issues (not all) however let me say this. I am sick and tired of the Democratic party and some Republicrats (my word) who are fighting this President tooth and claw just because they do not want him to have any more successes while in office. Here we finally have a guy in the White House with enough guts to try and accomplish BIG things unlike many of his predecessors and he his being stifled at every turn by people who want to keep things as is in Washington so that they have political issues to use against the other party.
Social Security - We truly need to fix it and Bush is leading the way. Do you know that most federal employees have their own private accounts that they can invest in like the ones Bush is proposing for every American as an option yet Democrats oppose it. Do you know that the teachers unions who oppose this plan also have their own private accounts? Yet they oppose every American having that option. Can you tell me why having the ability to invest some of YOUR OWN MONEY in the market instead of turning it all over to politicians in Washington to spend on their favorite pork projects is a bad idea? Can you tell me why average Americans having MORE money at retirement is a bad idea? Can you tell me why Americans having some of their OWN MONEY to leave to their spouses or children instead of just giving it to Washington politicians is a bad idea? Why do you think Democrats oppose Bush on fixing SS? In my humble opinion they want to keep the issue alive so solving the problem would hurt them politically. They have offered no solutions so far and have only tried to stop Bush from fixing the problem. It seems that they DO NOT want more Americans keeping more of their own money because that would make them less dependent on government. This makes me sick and angry that people elected to the government are not acting in the best interest of the people but in the best interest of their party.
Government Schools - The public school system in the USA is a tragedy. Day after day, story after story comes out about kids who are out of control in these schools. Parents who could care less drop these kids off at what has become one of the most dangerous and humongus day care centers in the universe. No discipline in schools has lead to kids having sex in school, (oral sex in the public school system is out of control) carrying guns and using them in school, fighting teachers and doing everything but learning. Republicans want to offer parents options so that they can pull their kids out of these so called schools and put them in proven effective private schools yet the democrats want no part of it. Why? Because they want kids to be ignorant so they will continue to vote for Democrats and live in liberal sponsored ghettos? Teachers are in bed with the democrats because the teachers union is one of the largest democrat voting blocks that exist today. In the meantime kids are raped, beaten, shot, bullied, and fed liberal crap instead of being taught reading, writing and math. They continue to be forced to go to terrible schools where they cannot learn. Private schools are the only solution. Democrats want your kids in horrible public schools no matter what the consequences are. You do the math.
War on Terrorism - Bush lied people died. Blah, blah, blah. So what. Do you know that we have been at war for two years and only about 1500 of our soldiers have died in combat? Most of them accidents or friendly fire. God bless them all and their families but in the scheme of things this is an amazing statistic! Compare these numbers to WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam or the Civil War and you have no comparison. This is a remarkable victory. Bush and his team have begun to change the face of the middle east by removing Saddam Hussein and routing the Taliban. The war on terrorism is a BIG SUCCESS but democrats want you to believe it is a failure. It is shameful how these people will exploit anything to try and make the other party look bad in the eyes of ignorant, uninformed people all over the world. Folks we are in the first throes of a Holy War here between radical Islamic terrorists all over the world and everyone else. They want the entire world to conform to their sick way of life and they will kill every Christian, Buddhist, Hindu or Jew that they can. They really want to take down America because they know we are the ONLY ones who can defeat them. Let me ask you this. If the fundamentalist Islamic radicals think we are such infidels and perverts why is their religion based on a principal that when you die you go to paradise and spend eternity with 72 virgins? What do you think these people intend to do with these virgins? It's all about sex! They want to deflower these young girls in heaven! That my friend sounds perverted to me. I don't know about you but people who think it is OK to blow up your own body and kill dozens if not thousands of innocent people just so you can have sex with 72 virgins is about as sick and idea of life and afterlife as I can imagine. We must fight these people and destroy them before they destroy us. Democrats want us to talk to them, make peace with them, try not to upset them. Again the party of peace is short sighted and would rather use your anger against Bush to defeat Republicans at the polls than protect America from death and Terror at the hands of these crazy Islamic radicals!

That is Talk Radio, Cable news (FOX) the internet, blogs, etc.. It used to be when we were younger that if we heard it on the news (CBS, NBC, ABC) we took it for the truth. The same with news papers. If we read it there we thought it must be true. AAANNNNK! Wrong! Turns out that all this time they were spinning and telling us the news they wanted us to hear, Their own special version of the news. Now we get both sides of the story and can make up our own minds. No longer can Dan Rather get on TV and lie through his teeth to try and bring down a President that he does not agree with. I am still stunned at some of the crapola I hear and read coming from the OLD media (as I like to call it) but onward they march to the tune of the democratic party doing their stalwart best to denounce Republicans, Conservatives and Christians. Yet we have our own Generals fighting for us in this war against abounding ignorance. Now in the NEW media, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Neal Boortz, Glenn Beck (that sick freak) Bill O'Reilly and dozens of others get out each and every day and counter the leftist media sycophants who love democrats and all things that hurt Bush or anyone who supports him.

He is also doing a great job in the Middle East. Unfortunately for him and us there are politicians in Washington who are hell bent on stopping anything Bush proposes. These people such as Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Howard Dean and many others are the worst politicians I have ever seen. These people are very dangerous to this country and should be sent home not reelected. Most of them have not an ounce of common sense.
Border Problem - Now Mr. President if I could bend your ear I would tell you this, thanks for all you have done but hear this!. PROTECT OUR BORDERS!!!!! Until you does this I see it as a major mistake. Your lack of concern for the borders leads me to believe that you care more about votes for the party than keeping thugs and terrorists out of this country. If a nuke is detonated in the USA and it is found out that it was brought in here due to your lax stance on the borders your legacy will be just that. WAKE UP!!!! Take care of this problem and you will go down in history as one of the greatest Presidents of all time. If you don't you will be seen as a man who had great vision but in the end politics clouded your vision and you ultimately failed to protect this great country. Your swore before GOD and all of us you would uphold and defend the Constitution and America.

State of Fear
Greetings
Recently in Florida there have been two high profile cases of horrifying child abduction, molestation and murder. These of course are just the two most recent of the endless cases of these types of crimes. They happen again and again in this country and for some unholy reason child molesters are continually paroled where in many if not most of these cases the offenders are found to be ex cons who are sexual predators.
So tell me something. What is wrong with a judicial system where a woman (Martha Stewart) who is a millionaire, creating thousands of jobs and paying tons of tax dollars into the system is arrested and then paroled with a tracking device on her ankle for a white collar crime yet these scum of the earth child molesters are turned loose into society and hardly even kept track of. Many never heard of again until they murder or molest another innocent victim? What kind of screwed up, upside down, parallel universe are we living in?
I don't know the answer to this question but I wish someone would tell me what in the hell is going on here! I think it is time we all started calling, emailing, marching or whatever it takes to get the court system to wake up in this country and use some common sense when it comes to this kind of perverted crime. These are the worst kind of people and the closest things we have to demons that walk, talk and breath here on God's green earth. We need to eradicate them from the planet and if we can't do that then at least keep them in jail forever or force them to wear collars, bracelets, or embedded tracking devices.
Tell the ACLU to get over it and let's just do it!

What's new?
All the news that is news, good, bad and ugly. You can add funny in there too I suppose!
First off I'd like to point out that Puff Daddy and his Rock the Vote crew are at it again. They had so much success at registering young democrats to defeat W (Yeah Right) that they now are taking W on again with the Social Security issue. Their official stance is to say no to private accounts and get this, here's a quote from one of their spokespeople:

I guess having more money to spend when you retire could be a burden to some but I will gladly take that burden when I hit 65. Go ahead, double my money you rat B@st&rds!
Here's another catch phrase they are using. "All the cool kids oppose privatization." As Micheal Jackson would say, He, he - Hmmm, replace cool with dumb and you might be more factually accurate. Wonder how much money the DNC is paying MTV for this official stance on SS?
It's so funny it is sad to think this is the best of the MTV generation flexing their political muscles here. Even funnier is tha fact that if you go to their blog more of the kids who are posting are for privatization or for eliminating social security all together than not. Maybe they are not so dumb after all.
OK on to more important news: The Minute Men are helping secure our borders. Down in Arizona a group of nearly 1000 people are assisting the border patrol in spotting illegals crossing into our country. As you know our borders are being skewered by these illegals each and every day and it is very possible that terrorsits are among them. Since W and his cabinet will not do anything about it the Minute Men have taken action! The sad thing about it is all the negative coverage the Old media is giving these patriots. They are helping with homeland security just as the President asked us all to after 911 and they are being demonized for it. Go figure.
I'd like to take my last moments today to say farewell to the Pope. He was a fine man and I hope he will say hello to Jesus for me when he arrives in heaven.

Sin City - Review
Whoa! This movie is violent! Do not take the kids to this one my friends. Some nudity as well. Shall we say profanity too!
Sin City a comic book (Graphic Novel) brought to the big screen. I have never seen the books but the previews looked interesting. Being a huge fan of fiction novels, comics and graphic novels when I was younger this peaked my interest. The cast looked really good and the black and white with some splashes of color seemed to add a noir twist that also caught my eye.
I was not disappointed. This was a good movie. Mickey Rourke stole the show with his character Marv who goes on a rampage after having spent one night with a beautiful hooker called Goldie. The carnage left in his wake is truly sickening but you seem to believe that all those who he deals death to really deserve it.
Bruce Willis also plays a good role here as a detective (Hartigan) with a bad ticker. He puts his life on the line saving a girl and fighting a corrupt system ran by an evil senator played by Powers Boothe. There are many other well known actors in this film that you will recognize and one was Elijah Wood from Lord of the Rings. He plays a nasty little villian that will surprise you. The women in this film are sexy and gorgeous not to mention dangerous. The one that really stands out is Jessica Alba (Nancy) the girl who is saved by Bruce Willis.
I have to say I enjoyed this movie although it was extremely violent. I must admit I am having second thoughts about the impact of violent movies, video games and music in our culture these days. I may not be able to recommend this movie for people who have a hard time distinguishing fiction from reality. With all the news of kids killing people these days for no other reason than it felt good or they disrespected me or my parents punished me so I shot them in the head. I have to wonder what is the real impact of this type of media on young minds who seem to be losing control of the line between right and wrong, good and evil.
I Give this a 4 out of 5 grade but this is NOT a movie for young people. Adults only!!!

Spring is here
Alright! Spring has officially arrived! Yippee!!!!!
It was nearly 80 degrees here in my little town yesterday. All the trees are blooming and I have dusted the pollen off my Shadow and taken her for a spin. Even road about 15 miles back from a class on Tuesday night at 9:00 and it wasn't too cold. I am very excited about Spring. Gotta start playing golf again next week when the time changes. It will be light long enough to get in 9 holes after work! Got a couple of motorcycle trips planned this spring as well. A fishing trip too! Yep, Spring is a great time of year in the Carolinas.
Well I finally figured out why I wake up at 4:30AM every morning. There is a scientific study that says it is a genetic thing. Hmmmm, not so sure about that but it is worth reading I suppose. Here is the link.

Book Review
I just finished this book by Steven Shrewsbury. He's an up an coming author who has the talent to rival many of the greats like Steven King and Robert E. Howard. Here's my review of his latest novel called "Godforsaken." I urge you to get a copy. This will be one you'll want to read again and again over the years.

This new book by Steven Shrewsbury is already a classic in my opinion. As an avid reader of fantasy fiction who has gone through literally hundreds of books in this genre in the past 25 years I can honestly say this story is one of the finest I have ever read. Shrewsbury creates an ancient world using his vivid imagination along with much historically correct information form our own olden times. Follow a savage Celtic chieftain warrior, in a style reminiscent of Robert E. Howard’s Conan, who travels to Rome to avenge his wife and his people, then wanders the world in search of the mysterious tree of life. Godforsaken

Well, if you have not heard about this case you just plain do not listen to the news on TV or radio and never read a news paper or any internet news. Perhaps if you live in the woods or a cave I would give you a pass but if you are at all involved in the daily grind and occasionally watch TV or turn on your car radio you probably have heard something about this case.
I am a news junkie and I have heard it all, over and over and over for the past several days and even before that. I read a column by Neal Boortz on the subject published at Townhall.com. He is one of the few talk radio guys who does not support keeping Terri alive. He has compassionate reasons for wanting her to die but I disagree with him. Here is a letter I sent him this morning.

I found your response to Rush's question intriguing. I think you are right about the soul making the transition to eternal life and certainly Terri deserves that. Yet where I part with you is here.
The life that we live here on earth is but a drop in the proverbial bucket of eternity. Should Terri remain in her current state for 5, 10 or 30 more years could be just the blink of an eye to God. He has used this woman's plight to show us many things the past week.
We have learned that many people in this country are as passionate about killing the infirm such as Terri as they are about killing the unborn. We have learned that the Judicial branch of government here in the U.S. has too much power and needs to be reigned in. We have also learned that sometimes Congress and the President will act in haste if they deem an issue important enough. We have also learned that we all need a living will. There is more here to be learned that will be revealed but I digress.
This case has taught us much and I thank God for using this poor woman to do his will. I wish her no suffering but I also know that God does work in mysterious ways and I am not smart enough to understand these ways nor shall I pass judgment on God for his motives.
I know people can be greedy and evil. My gut tells me that Terri's husband's motives are not pure. There is too much circumstantial evidence to the contrary and the fact that no judge will hear that evidence really steams me.

Where does it end? When a judge can issue a court order to starve a poor infirm woman to death and the legislative branch can convene in special session to pass a law to make a judge take a new look at the case and all the facts surrounding the case and the judge refuses, where does it end?
Our President flew from Texas to Washington to sign this emergency that many of our elected officials have traveled back to Washington to pass bill but again this was ignored. Where does it end?
If you stumble and fall, hit your head and are in the hospital, mis-diagnosed as a brain dead vegetable and have no living will. Then a judge orders you starved to death is that OK? What if you are really in there but just can't communicate, you can hear people talking about you and you know exactly what they are doing? This has happened you know. Then they pull your feeding tube and you ever so slowly dry up and die of dehydration and starvation, is that OK?
I think Not! I say Stop this madness!!!!
Think about Terri's plight today, good Friday as you contemplate the Lord's plight as he traversed the stoney path with the burden of our sins until he was crucified, dead and entombed. He did rise praise God and today sits at God's right hand. Our judgment will come and we must be prepared.
Blessed are those who seek the Lord.

More News, some good, some bad...
Greetings Folks
There is much happening in the news these days and here are a few news stories you may or may not be abreast of or interested in for that matter. So if you are so inclined here we go!
Looks like Arnold is really making things happen in California. In fact I would compare him to President Bush in the way he is making bold moves and shaking up the status quo. Here is the link to an article by Dick Morris explaining some of what Arnold is up to. In case this link is bad I will post the entire story at the end of this blog.
Is President Bush now vindicated in his bold vision to bring freedom to the people of the middle east? Charles Krauthammer thinks so. I wonder what all the nay sayers think about it now?
I've always wanted to go to Australia, for some reason that country is an appealing place to travel to. Now here is another reason to go!
Should Terry Shiavo live or die? I am under the impression that if she had therapy she should be able to function much more than she does today. I have also heard that her husband and guardian has refused to let her have any kind of therapy including not even allowing her teeth to be brushed for over ten years. True? I don't know for sure, sounds ridiculous to me. However at the root of the problem is this question. Should her feeding tube be removed and she be allowed to slowly starve and dehydrate. I think this is a cruel way to kill a human being. What about the cruel and inhuman punishment talked about when it comes to criminals? Should this woman be treated worse than a criminal? Here is the latest on the story.
Cute little Jessica Lunsford is dead. Murdered and raped by a child molester who had been staying across the street from her house with his half sister. The half sister should not have allowed him to be there in the first place. What is her crime in this? The girls father was out catting around with a girlfriend, not spending the night at home. Was he neglect? The grandmother had some issues on her lie detector test. Did she know this guy? Had he been over there talking to the grandma while the dad was out? The moral of the story here is more than two fold. The U.S. justice system needs to crack down on these child molesters and make them wear ankle bracelets or something. Keeping them in jail longer and perhaps neutering them would help too. Parents need to be more careful with their kids and keep their damn doors locked at night. How about some type of alarms on your children's windows and doors. Here is the sad story.
Baretta is innocent! So says the jury in this Hollywood murder story. I personally thought they would convict him but it seems there really was no evidence to tie him to the murder, circumstantial or physical. Obviously what we saw on the news was not the full story. His body guards must have been deemed non-credible by the defense. What do you think? Did he get away with murder?
I suppose that is enough for one day.

Here's the Arnold story!
March 17, 2005 -- WE'LL never change the Constitution to let him become president, but Arnold Schwarzenegger is conducting a one-man revolution aimed at providing presidential leadership.
The East Coast media has missed the full dimensions of the California governor's accomplishments and bold proposals. Together, they constitute one of the most astounding, imaginative and forward-thinking agendas in our recent history.
Start with the War on Terror. While President Bush hunts the terrorists down and pressures nation-states to give up their sponsorship of terror gangs, Schwarzenegger is working to solve the problem of Islamic terrorism once and for all — by ending our dependence on foreign oil and stopping the worldwide economic and climatic distortions that global oil usage causes.
He's doing it by providing aggressive state leadership to open the way for hydrogen fuel cell cars. While President Bush speaks of the advent of these vehicles in the indefinite future, Gov. Schwarzenegger is bringing them to the here and now by converting gas stations along California's interstate highways to provide hydrogen fuel as well as gasoline.
With financing projected to come one-third each from federal, state and private sources, California will offer hydrogen fuel every few miles in urban areas and at least every 20 miles along the highway system by 2010. Eventually, he and the leaders of Washington, Oregon, Baja California and British Columbia will work together to create a "hydrogen highway" that will run from B.C. (British Columbia) to B.C. (Baja California).
The Schwarzenegger plan calls for state-subsidized production of hydrogen and for tax incentives for those who purchase hydrogen cars.
Replacing gasoline engines with hydrogen-fuel cells would eliminate two-thirds of America's need for oil — a demand that we could meet entirely with domestically produced oil.
Since California accounts for 20 percent of U.S. new-car purchases, the tail will wag the dog and a national hydrogen grid will become almost inevitable.
But Arnold's revolution also aims to restore democracy at home.
Disgusted by the gerrymandering that led to the re-election of all but a handful of members of Congress in 2000 and 2002 (including all 54 California congressmen in 2002 and everyone but Gary Condit in 2000), Schwarzenegger is acting to end the disgrace on our democracy. He is pushing a voter initiative to adopt the Iowa Plan — to have legislative and congressional districts drawn by independent jurists who aren't permitted to take account of incumbency or party in creating the districts.
The cynical political deals that underscored the post-2000 Census reapportionment made the incumbents of both parties invulnerable and limited the number of swing seats to a mere 5 percent of the House of Representatives. Gov. Arnold will change all that in California. And, as with hydrogen cars, his action will likely awaken voters across the nation to take back their democracy.
Finally, Schwarzenegger is striking at the root of the problem with public education by seeking to smash teacher tenure and pay and promote teachers based on merit, just like other employees in America. The privileged classroom enclave where incompetence is not punished and excellence is not rewarded will be ended in California.
Too bad that so-called education reformers like Hillary Clinton dropped merit-based promotion (which she once supported in Arkansas but dropped when she came to New York, with its virulent teachers union).
If the legislature does not pass the "governator's" tenure-reform and redistricting programs, he'll put these issues on the ballot where they will most likely pass.
In energy, the environment, anti-terrorism, democratic reform and education, Arnold Schwarzenegger is showing us what a governor can do. Are there other governors willing to follow his bold example?

The Left is lost!
While browsing the news this morning I found a great article at Slate.com by Chistopher Hitchens. Here is a link to it. In this article he points out the flaws in the NYT article from the 13th concerning the so-called looting of the WMD sites in Iraq.
Remember these WMD sites did not exist according to certain parties on the left and certain weapons inspectors with agendas that did not mesh with the Bush administration. Now all of the sudden the two brilliant juorlnalists from the NYT claim that all this material was systematically removed from Irag to a neighboring state with trucks and cranes and they call it looting!
Hmmm, seems the same paper who printied that Bush lied about Sadaam's WMD capabilites now prints and article that says Sadaam had the capabilites and we allowed them to be looted. What's wrong with this picture. By the way, the Old media did not report this story at all on Monday the day after the NYT printed it.
Double-hmmm, I wonder why?
You a Clint Eastwood fan? Here is a link to an interview with Clint by Bill O'Reilly. Check it out! In this article you will learn that Clint is 74 now. Wow! How did that happen? His mom who is still alive is 96! Looks like Clint could be with us a while longer.....

The News Today
Greetings friends
I normally like to post good news here however it is often that I find some important information that is not so good. This is one of those occasions. It seems that one of the most ruthless gangs from Central america has made it's way to the USA. I know they have been here for many years but the antee has been upped. Now it looks as though they may have an alliance with Al Quaida. Check out the story here. For more detailed information on this dangerous and super violent gang you can click here.
Another important story you will not hear on CBS, ABC, NBC or the rest of the old media was actually reported by the New York Times last weekend. It seems that the illusive facilities to create WMD from Iraq were actually there and were then spirited away during the first days of the war to a neighboring state. Hmmm, seems like me and a zillion other people have been saying this all along but Ted Kennedy, John Kerry and the Dims in Washington were not quite bright enough to figure this one out. Well, perhaps they really knew it but had another agenda. Naaa, that couldn't be true could it??? The link may not work so I will give you the full story. The real story here is that this is meant to be critical to the Bush administration yet it actually verifies what they said all along about Sadaam's WMD program. Looks like the NYT has shot themselves right in the foot here.

In the weeks after Baghdad fell in April 2003, looters systematically dismantled and removed tons of machinery from Saddam Hussein's most important weapons installations, including some with high-precision equipment capable of making parts for nuclear arms, a senior Iraqi official said this week in the government's first extensive comments on the looting.
The Iraqi official, Sami al-Araji, the deputy minister of industry, said it appeared that a highly organized operation had pinpointed specific plants in search of valuable equipment, some of which could be used for both military and civilian applications, and carted the machinery away.
Dr. Araji said his account was based largely on observations by government employees and officials who either worked at the sites or lived near them.
"They came in with the cranes and the lorries, and they depleted the whole sites," Dr. Araji said. "They knew what they were doing; they knew what they want. This was sophisticated looting."
The threat posed by these types of facilities was cited by the Bush administration as a reason for invading Iraq, but the installations were left largely unguarded by allied forces in the chaotic months after the invasion.
Dr. Araji's statements came just a week after a United Nations agency disclosed that approximately 90 important sites in Iraq had been looted or razed in that period.
Satellite imagery analyzed by two United Nations groups - the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission, or Unmovic - confirms that some of the sites identified by Dr. Araji appear to be totally or partly stripped, senior officials at those agencies said. Those officials said they could not comment on all of Dr. Araji's assertions, because the groups had been barred from Iraq since the invasion.
For nearly a year, the two agencies have sent regular reports to the United Nations Security Council detailing evidence of the dismantlement of Iraqi military installations and, in a few cases, the movement of Iraqi gear to other countries. In addition, a report issued last October by the chief American arms inspector in Iraq, Charles A. Duelfer, told of evidence of looting at crucial sites.
The disclosures by the Iraqi ministry, however, added new information about the thefts, detailing the timing, the material taken and the apparent skill shown by the thieves.
Dr. Araji said equipment capable of making parts for missiles as well as chemical, biological and nuclear arms was missing from 8 or 10 sites that were the heart of Iraq's dormant program on unconventional weapons. After the invasion, occupation forces found no unconventional arms, and C.I.A. inspectors concluded that the effort had been largely abandoned after the Persian Gulf war in 1991.
Dr. Araji said he had no evidence regarding where the equipment had gone. But his account raises the possibility that the specialized machinery from the arms establishment that the war was aimed at neutralizing had made its way to the black market or was in the hands of foreign governments.
"Targeted looting of this kind of equipment has to be seen as a proliferation threat," said Gary Milhollin, director of the Wisconsin Project on Nuclear Arms Control, a private nonprofit organization in Washington that tracks the spread of unconventional weapons.
Dr. Araji said he believed that the looters themselves were more interested in making money than making weapons.
The United Nations, worried that the material could be used in clandestine bomb production, has been hunting for it, largely unsuccessfully, across the Middle East. In one case, investigators searching through scrap yards in Jordan last June found specialized vats for highly corrosive chemicals that had been tagged and monitored as part of the international effort to keep watch on the Iraqi arms program. The vessels could be used for harmless industrial processes or for making chemical weapons.

This is just part of the article but you may get the point from it. If these so called looters could come in and move all this equipment right under out noses hard hard would it have been to move out WMD at the same time or in the months prior to this.

What a Sunday!
WOW! The weather was nice yesterday. Must have been 75 degrees here in Charlotte. I had to get my Shadow out and give her a wash. I took a nice ride in the mid afternoon and visited a couple of friends . Did about a 15 miles trip. It sure was good to be on the road again. I am planning on spending a little money this year on my bike. I want to add a sissy bar with back rest and a small windshield. After that I will get a suitcase like bag that fits down on the sissy bar for when I go camping. I have got a few friends now who ride so looks like I am going to get out more this year than last!
In the News lately the debacle in Atlanta is still headlines. This guy who took the gun from the officer and killed the judge and a few others is back in custody. Do you think they will hand cuff him this time or is it too mean to handcuff a prisoner. It makes them look guilty. This liberal PC nonsense has to stop! Not to mention the policy of having hardened criminals being escorted by female deputies that obviously do not have the ability to keep their guns away from the criminals. How stupid is that policy? Looks like it will change now that people have died due to their lack of common sense in Atlanta.
In other disturbing news some lunatic has killed seven people at a church service. My wife and I had a discussion about this a year or so ago when someone had shot up a school. I said next thing you know some idiot will open fire in a church! Sure enough it has happened. My prayers go out to all of the above, in Atlanta and in Wisconsin. It seems the crazy people are just taking it out on innocent bystanders these days.
I am urging everyone I know to back the Fair tax Act. In this proposal we will no longer pay income tax, payroll tax or inheritance tax. An across the board consumption tax will replace it all. Corporations too! Take a look at it and see what you think!
I was watching TV last night and Deadwood was on HBO. I tuned in because I watched most of last season even though I was a bit put out by all the vulgarity. I love a good western though and this one is gritty and realistic it seems. However last night was my last episode. I just can't support this thing any longer. Every other word is the F word and the blatant sex and vulgarity is just too overwhelming. My sensibilities have changed over the past few years and since I have been born again I just cannot tolerate some things I would have tolerated in the past. Call me a prude if you like but I am done with that show.
The Sheild will be on tomorrow night. It is a cop show that I enjoy that is realistic and gritty. I hope they don't get too overboard with it. It is on cable but not HBO so maybe there is hope.
One last thing. The wife and I went to see Bruce Willis in "Hostage" this weekend. It was a very good movie. It was rated R for strong violence and language but I still enjoyed it. The story was good and it had many twists in the plot. I recommend it for adults.

It seems the crazy people are just taking it out on innocent bystanders these days.
I am urging everyone I know to back the Fair tax Act. In this proposal we will no longer pay income tax, payroll tax or inheritance tax. An across the board consumption tax will replace it all. Corporations too! Take a look at it and see what you think!
I was watching TV last night and Deadwood was on HBO. I tuned in because I watched most of last season even though I was a bit put out by all the vulgarity. I love a good western though and this one is gritty and realistic it seems. However last night was my last episode. I just can't support this thing any longer. Every other word is the F word and the blatant sex and vulgarity is just too overwhelming. My sensibilities have changed over the past few years and since I have been born again I just cannot tolerate some things I would have tolerated in the past. Call me a prude if you like but I am done with that show.
The Sheild will be on tomorrow night. It is a cop show that I enjoy that is realistic and gritty. I hope they don't get too overboard with it. It is on cable but not HBO so maybe there is hope.
One last thing. The wife and I went to see Bruce Willis in "Hostage" this weekend. It was a very good movie. It was rated R for strong violence and language but I still enjoyed it. The story was good and it had many twists in the plot. I recommend it for adults.

Middle Eastern Oil? No Thanks!

OIL SHALE
If a technology can be developed to economically recover oil from oil shale, the potential is tantalizingly enormous. If the containing organic material could be converted to oil, the quantities would be far beyond all known conventional oil reserves. Oil shale in great quantities exists worldwide: including in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Estonia, France, Russia, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and the USA.
The term "oil shale" is a misnomer. It does not contain oil nor is it commonly shale. The organic material is chiefly kerogen, and the "shale" is usually a relatively hard rock, called marl. Properly processed, kerogen can be converted into a substance somewhat similar to petroleum. However, it has not gone through the "oil window" of heat (nature’s way of producing oil) and therefore, to be changed into an oil-like substance, it must be heated to a high temperature. By this process the organic material is converted into a liquid, which must be further processed to produce an oil which is said to be better than the lowest grade of oil produced from conventional oil deposits, but of lower quality than the upper grades of conventional oil.
There are two conventional approaches to oil shale processing. In one, the shale is fractured in-situ and heated to obtain gases and liquids by wells. The second is by mining, transporting, and heating the shale to about 450oC, adding hydrogen to the resulting product, and disposing of and stabilizing the waste. Both processes use considerable water. The total energy and water requirements together with environmental and monetary costs (to produce shale oil in significant quantities) have so far made production uneconomic. During and following the oil crisis of the 1970’s, major oil companies, working on some of the richest oil shale deposits in the world in western United States, spent several billion dollars in various unsuccessful attempts to commercially extract shale oil.
Oil shale has been burned directly as a very low grade, high ash-content fuel in a few countries such as Estonia, whose energy economy remains dominated by shale. Minor quantities of oil have been obtained from oil shale in several countries at times over many years.
With increasing numbers of countries experiencing declines in conventional oil production, shale oil production may again be pursued. One project is now being undertaken in north-eastern Australia, but it seems unlikely that shale oil recovery operations can be expanded to the point where they could make a major contribution toward replacing the daily consumption of 73 million barrels of oil worldwide.
Perhaps oil shale will eventually find a place in the world economy, but the energy demands of blasting, transport, crushing, heating and adding hydrogen, together with the safe disposal of huge quantities of waste material, are large. On a small scale, and with good geological and other favorable conditions, such as water supply, oil shale may make a modest contribution but so far shale oil remains the "elusive energy".

If we could get some petroleum companies working on extracting this stuff and processing it we could truly wean ourselves from the OPEC dependency. This would also send the price of sweet crude back down along with gasoline prices. It would be nice to pay .80 cents a gallon again.
